About Matthew Randolph

Matthew spends much of his free time either designing material for whatever weekly Pathfinder game he has going on (both from a GM perspective as well as a PC perspective) or coding games in Unity3D. When he’s not busy with his super awesome nerdy stuff though, he also loves to go camping, ballroom dancing, traveling, reading, and playing board games or video games. He also loves talking about Pathfinder… in fact you’d be hard pressed to find a time he isn’t talking about or at least thinking about Pathfinder nowadays.

For several years, Matthew worked in the data warehouse of a health insurance company doing ETL work. He loved working with his coworkers and was sad to leave. His coworkers were awesome!

In school, Matthew studied Computer Science at the College of Saint Scholastica. Not content with only working with computers, Matthew also performed in the CSS Theater, studied business, finance, economics, the physical sciences, and loves to go ballroom dancing. He is a voracious reader and has lofty aspirations. His hobby is to learn about as many different fields, and about as many different topics, as he can. He spent three weeks in London, where he fell in love with traveling.

He furthered his studies by completing an MBA at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, where he participated in the UMD Ballroom Dance Club–which he then helped merge with the CSS Ballroom Dance Club to form the Twin Ports Collegiate Ballroom Team. He also spent a semester studying in Sweden and spent much of his spare time traveling through Eastern Europe.

Matthew has earned the Eagle Scout Rank during his membership in the Boy Scouts of America, the most prestigious and difficult award to earn, requiring such things as copious amounts of volunteer time, the study of various topics such as First Aid, Physical Fitness, Finance, Swimming, and Citizenship, and the completion of an Eagle Scout Leadership Project.

At CSS, Matthew was a member of the Steel Band, where he played the lead pan and double-seconds pans, Computer Club, formed the CSS Ballroom Dance Club, and was an occasional writer for the Saint Scholastica newspaper, The Cable. He participated in a hackathon hosted by Carlton University, and he also directed one of the early spring theater performances at CSS, titled Laundry and Bourbon.

In high school, Matthew played the tenor saxophone in a symphony band, and he was a representative in the student council, a member of the knowledge bowl, math team, and chess club, President of his National Honor Society branch, and he performed in every school play he could.

Matthew also enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
